Vacation

There’s a hole in my life

when you’re gone,

a disturbance in

the gravitational pull

without my sun.

It shows me

where I’m wrong,

where other

celestial bodies orbit

my misguided belief

that this moon or

that planet

ts hugged tighter

than they are.

It shows me

I am not the center

of my universe.

Rather I am Neptune

flung perilously far out

into space

praying for

somebody

to pass me by.

I am so lonely,

so lonely

without you.
